Fantastic marina in Scotland
I’m the owner of a 42-foot sailing yacht and first came into Troon Yacht Haven as a visitor. I was so impressed that I ended up taking an annual berth and it’s a decision I’ve been really happy with. The staff are a big part of what makes the place. They’re friendly, approachable and genuinely helpful, whether it’s coming alongside, organising services, or just pointing you in the right direction. There’s a good atmosphere around the marina and it always feels well run. The marina and facilities are clean, well maintained and easy to use. The pontoons feel safe and solid and the harbour is well sheltered. There are some good contractors on site and nearby which is a real bonus. The marina has a fuel station and a small chandlery which is very handy. As far as the location goes we find it is ideal for cruising the Clyde and the West Coast. The town of Troon town right on the doorstep for shops, transport links and everyday essentials. It’s also great being able to walk straight up to Scott’s Restaurant from the marina for some great food and views. Another real plus as a berth holder has been the Salt Lodge Hotel just next to the marina. We’ve stayed there a couple of times and the berth-holder discounts are excellent. The hotel is comfortable, convenient and great value if you’re staying ashore for a night or two. What started as a short visit turned into a long-term base and I’d happily recommend Troon Yacht Haven to both visiting yachts and anyone looking for an annual berth.
